How to add tasks

There are multiple ways to add tasks in Dot5.


Option 1: From the Left-Hand Menu


  1. The fastest way to add a Task is to click the plus sign next to Tasks in the left side menu.
  2. Fill in the required fields, as well as any other relevant details. You can always add or edit information later.
  3. Click Create to save your Task. A confirmation message will appear once the Task is saved.
  4. You can then drag and drop the Task from Unassigned to any section inside Tasks.


Option 2: From the Tasks Page


  1. Click Tasks in the left-hand menu.
  2. Click New Task in the top-right corner of the screen.
  3. Fill in the required fields, as well as any other relevant details. You can always add or edit information later.
  4. Click Create to save your Task. A confirmation message will appear once the Task is saved.
  5. You can then drag and drop the Task from Unassigned to any section inside Tasks.


Option 3: From a Section in Tasks


  1. Inside Tasks, click any of the plus signs **to the right of a section name (for example, next to the **Unassigned section).
  2. Fill in the required fields, as well as any other relevant details. You can always add or edit information later.
  3. Click Create to save your Task. A confirmation message will appear once the Task is saved.
  4. You can then drag and drop the Task from the section where it was created to any section inside Tasks.


Option 4: From Employees 


  1. Click Employees in the left-hand menu.
  2. Click on a shift (shifts are shown as blue slots in all views).
  3. In the pop-up window, click + Add Task in the top-right corner.
  4. Fill in the required fields, as well as any other relevant details. You can always add or edit information later.
  5. Click Create to save your Task. A confirmation message will appear once the Task is saved.
  6. Once created, you can drag and drop the Task from Unassigned to any section inside Tasks.


Option 5: From Events


  1. Click Events in the left-hand menu.
  2. Select an event.
  3. Click + Add New Itinerary Event in the top-right corner of the screen.
  4. Select Add New Task.
  5. Fill in the required fields, as well as any other relevant details. You can always add or edit information later.
  6. Click Create to save your Task. A confirmation message will appear once the Task is saved.
  7. Once created, you can drag and drop the Task from Unassigned to any section inside Tasks.
