# How to assign and edit permissions

###### How to assign permissions 

[When inviting employees to the organization](https://app.crisp.chat/website/998decac-3ea8-40d1-8b56-84045ce2472b/helpdesk/articles/en/e5210695-6782-4012-bfa0-bfb1e9e29a69/), assign their permissions during the invitation process.

Note: If you choose “Custom” permissions for an employee, you’ll need to assign them manually.

###### How to edit permissions 

1. Go to **Admin Settings** in the left side menu.
2. Select **Permissions** on the top menu.
3. Click the pencil icon on the right of the employee you want to edit. 
4. Go to the “Select a role” dropdown menu in the top-right corner of the screen and select the desired permission level.
5. You can also manually edit their permissions if needed.
6. Click **Save**. A confirmation message will appear once the changes are saved.
