# How do space statuses work

Both **Spaces** and **Subspaces** have a status chip that can be changed by clicking on it.

1. Changing the status of a subspace does not affect other subspaces or the Space.
2. Changing the status of a Space does not affect its subspaces.
3. The **Ready** status can only be set manually.
4. When a reservation starts, the status automatically changes to **In Use** (only if it was previously **Ready**).
5. If it was not **Ready**, the status does not change.
6. When the reservation ends, the status changes from **In Use** to **Being Reset**.
7. If it never changed to **In Use**, it remains unchanged.
